Nevertheless, the decision does not prohibit air travel with power banks
Passengers are still allowed to travel with external batteries and store them in bags under the seat or in seat back pockets, with some restrictions, according to aviation insiders.
Reasons for the innovation
The Civil Aviation Department expressed serious concern on Monday about recent safety incidents involving passengers using lithium external batteries on board aircraft.

In an apartment on the 6th floor in Odesa, a power bank exploded, causing a fire and damage to the door, window and balcony. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service quickly extinguished the fire, there were no casualties.
