According to the Romanian publication, the rescue operation took place in Maramureș County. Initially, rescuers found a 31-year-old Ukrainian who had spent seven days in the mountains without provisions and was completely exhausted.
Later, two more Ukrainian citizens, aged 25 and 32, were evacuated. Due to the difficult terrain with numerous precipices, they could no longer move on their own. Their evacuation was completed on Saturday around 6:30 a.m.
All three were handed over to the competent authorities of Romania after the rescue. Their lives are currently not in danger.
The Romanian mountain rescue service Salvamont emphasized that the operation took place under difficult weather and mountain conditions.
