There is no encirclement of the Defense Forces in Kursk region, we control the situation – Zelenskyy

There is no encirclement of Ukrainian military in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The presence of the Defense Forces is not only on the territory of the Kursk region. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing, reports UNN.

Russia does not want a ceasefire and we see that. We understand what it wants, what the next steps are, where their military is gathering, where there is an increase in shelling, where there is an increase in attack offensives. For example, we see more than 200 along the entire front line, and this is definitely an increase. It could have been a couple of days ago, but the weather was not very good. Now we see they will do it

- said Zelenskyy.

The President noted that the Russians want to push the Defense Forces out of the Kursk region.

They need steps, they really want to push us out of the Kursk region completely, but everyone understands and confirms, and now our generals' colleagues, representatives of France and Britain, have confirmed that there is no encirclement, we are on the territory of the Kursk region and our presence is not only on the territory of the Kursk region

- said Zelenskyy.

He stressed that the Ukrainian military is holding 64,000 Russians in the Kursk region.

So far, we are controlling the situation, we are there, it is very important for us. We are holding a large number of troops – 64,000 Russians in the Kursk direction

- said Zelenskyy.
