The White House has not changed its  position on the use of American weapons to strike at Russian territory. Washington also wants to get an explanation from Kyiv about the situation in the Kursk region of Russia. This was stated by a representative of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, reports Voice of America, UNN writes.

The White House spokesman did not comment on the alleged offensive by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region of Russia. When asked, he said that he would "let the Ukrainians talk about their operations.

According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces should be contacted for relevant comments. 

We will focus on making sure they have what they need to defend themselves. I would also like to add that there is no change in our policy on facilitating or encouraging strikes inside Russia - beyond what we have allowed them to do with weapons provided in the past when it comes to striking immediate threats just across the border.

He also added that Washington wants to contact Ukrainian representatives to better understand the situation in Russia's Kursk region.
