The US and Russia have agreed on safe navigation in the Black Sea and the development of measures to ban attacks on energy facilities. The US will also help Russia with the export of agricultural products.
The US and Russia, following negotiations in Saudi Arabia, agreed to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea and agreed to develop measures to implement the Trump-Putin agreement on the prohibition of strikes on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine. According to presidential-level discussions between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin, the United States facilitated bilateral technical-level talks with a Russian delegation on March 23-25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After these discussions:
⦁ The United States and Russia agreed to ensure safe navigation, exclude the use of force, and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea;
⦁ The United States will help restore Russia's access to the global market for exports of agricultural products and fertilizers, reduce marine insurance costs, and expand access to ports and payment systems for such operations;
⦁ The United States and Russia agreed to develop measures to implement the agreement between President Trump and President Putin on the prohibition of strikes on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine;
⦁ The United States and Russia welcome the good offices of third countries to support the implementation of energy and maritime agreements;
⦁ The United States and Russia will continue to work towards achieving a lasting and durable peace.
The United States reiterated President Donald J. Trump's order that killings on both sides of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict must end as a necessary step toward achieving a lasting peaceful settlement. To this end, the United States will continue to facilitate negotiations between the two sides to reach a peaceful settlement in accordance with the agreements reached in Riyadh
