Due to the war with Iran, the US has expended over a thousand Tomahawk missiles and a significant number of Patriots. The Trump administration is asking Congress for $70 billion to replenish stocks, which may not be restored until 2029-2030.
The United States spent such a number of Tomahawk cruise missiles and Patriot anti-aircraft missiles during the war with Iran that their full replenishment will take several years. The administration of President Donald Trump has already asked Congress to allocate additional funding to replenish arsenals, reports UNN citing Yle.

According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), over a thousand Tomahawk missiles used cost more than $2 billion, and expenditures on Patriot missiles reached about $5 billion. At current production rates, Patriot stockpiles may return to pre-war levels only by mid-2029, and Tomahawk stockpiles no earlier than the end of 2030.
The Trump administration is asking Congress to approve an additional funding package that includes about $70 billion for costs related to the war against Iran. At the same time, Democrats oppose the allocation of these funds, stating that the government should not finance new military campaigns at the expense of taxpayers.
The publication notes that the war also exposed the problem of slow ramping up of American weapons production. In addition to replenishing its own stockpiles, the U.S. must fulfill contracts with allies, particularly regarding the supply of Patriot systems to NATO countries, some of which are purchased for further transfer to Ukraine.
