According to the agency, the White House plans to discuss increasing the production of missiles and ammunition following U.S. strikes on Iran, as well as ongoing arms supplies to Ukraine.
This will be the second such meeting between the Trump administration and defense industry representatives. In March, the meeting was attended by executives from leading defense sector companies and U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
The White House maintains that the U.S. military has sufficient weapon stockpiles to fulfill assigned tasks.
The United States Armed Forces have more than enough ammunition, rounds, and supplies to meet all of President Trump's strategic goals and beyond
At the same time, the administration continues to demand that manufacturers increase the pace of weapons production. In particular, the Pentagon is pushing for multi-year agreements to expand the production of missiles for Patriot and THAAD systems, as well as Tomahawk cruise missiles and AMRAAM air-to-air missiles.
According to Reuters, the implementation of these agreements is currently at the contract preparation stage.
