Poland has received its first three F-35 fighter jets from the US. These are the first fifth-generation aircraft on NATO's eastern flank for threat detection.

On Friday, May 22, Poland received the first batch of three F-35 fighter jets ordered from the United States. This was reported by Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on X, according to UNN.

He also noted that these are the first 5th-generation fighters on NATO's eastern flank, capable of detecting threats before being spotted themselves.

Poland signed the contract for the purchase of 32 F-35 fighters in 2020, and serial production of the aircraft for the Polish Air Force began in 2023.
