MP Oksana Dmytriieva called for the return of the Trade Union House on Maidan to the Federation of Trade Unions. The renewal of the FPU leadership and the purging of the organization create the conditions for returning the building to the trade union movement.

The Trade Union House on Maidan must be returned to the FPU – MP Dmytriieva

The Trade Union House on Maidan Nezalezhnosti should remain a space associated with the trade union movement, and one to which the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine should return. It is an important symbol—both of trade unions and of the protection of working people. This opinion was expressed by Member of Parliament Oksana Dmytriieva in an exclusive comment to UNN.

The trade union movement must return home—to the Trade Union House on Maidan Nezalezhnosti. For many, this is not just a building, but a symbol of trade unions and their role in protecting working people. At the same time, the issue of ownership today requires a balanced and legally flawless settlement,

- noted Oksana Dmytriieva.

According to the MP, after the change in leadership of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine a year ago and the renewal of approaches to managing the organization, there are grounds to speak about the restoration of its full-scale activities, including in the Trade Union House.

The renewal of the Federation of Trade Unions and the change in management approaches, in my opinion, create opportunities for a return to full-scale work. It is important that this space continues to remain connected with trade unions—as their historical and symbolic center,

- she emphasized.

She added that such a decision could become an important signal for restoring trust in the trade union movement and strengthening its role in protecting workers' rights.

As a reminder

As UNN previously wrote, the head of the FPU Serhiy Byzov stated in an interview that the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine continues to fight in court for the return of the Trade Union House located in the center of the capital. He expressed confidence that the trade union movement would return home in the near future.

By court decision, the Trade Union House was transferred to the management of ARMA. This asset was under seizure in 2022 and 2023 as part of a case involving the misappropriation of state property. In 2025, the seizure was lifted; however, on June 3, 2025, the Pechersk District Court re-imposed a seizure on this facility.

The Agency concluded a management agreement with the winner of an open competition—the "KAMparitet Management Company" consortium.

According to a journalistic investigation, the consortium includes a company that may be linked to one of the asset's previous beneficiaries. The publication also mentioned the name of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna in the context of past family ties. She categorically denied any involvement in the possible scheme. After the scandal broke out, MPs demanded the resignation of the then-head of ARMA, Olena Duma.

An inspection conducted by ARMA from August 20 to September 5, 2025, recorded violations of certain terms of the asset management agreement.

The Trade Union House is an administrative building that formerly housed the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. During the Revolution of Dignity, it served as the Headquarters of National Resistance. The building almost completely burned down in February 2014. Between 2016 and 2018, it was restored by a private investor.
