On the night of May 2, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 163 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details

The enemy launched drones from the Russian cities of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Cape Chauda and the settlement of Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea. About 100 of the launched UAVs were "Shaheds."

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the aerial attack.

As of 08:00 on May 2, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or suppressed 142 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other types of drones in the north, south, and east of the country.

At the same time, 17 strike UAV hits were recorded at 12 locations, as well as the falling of downed drones (debris) at 2 locations.
