The most trendy colors in the new year: what to choose to keep up with fashion
Kyiv • UNN
Designers have presented a palette of fashionable colors for winter 2024 and spring-summer 2025. From classic khaki and gray to unexpected lime and space silver - what shades will be relevant in the new season.
Although brown, dark blue and black shades will continue to be the most popular in winter, we will see the emergence of new favorites - from light blue to sunny yellow, and the following seasons will surprise us with a variety of colors, writes UNN with reference to Vogue.
Winter
Khaki
Burberry, Ferragamo, Gucci and Bottega Veneta made the rich earthy shade of khaki green the main star of their collections. Khaki may be associated with versatile jackets and cargo pants, but this fall it is more elevated and sophisticated, and has painted jackets and silk dresses in shades of olive, moss and deep khaki.
Pink
Pink is not a color usually associated with the cold months, but it is a shade that designers clearly liked for the upcoming season. Instead of Barbiecore shades, we saw softer, more muted pink tones at Chloé, Prada and Chanel. Brands stylized pink in stylish total looks with a dress or suit or made it a bright accent among neutral colors - with pants, shirt or coat.
Gray
As for neutral colors, gray dominated all collections, ranging from light to dark slate shades. Carven, Del Core and Bevza were just some of the brands that championed the gray total look. Gray massive knitwear and voluminous styles became the key elements of this aesthetic.

Yellow
Yellow was a key trend in the fall-winter 2023/2024 season, and despite the fact that it is traditionally considered a summer shade, it will continue to be popular in the fall and winter. Prada paired a short-sleeved calendula knit with a gray skirt, while Victoria Beckham, Jacquemus and Bottega Veneta showed more delicate buttery shades. Some of the key pieces of the collections were a mustard yellow square jacket by Bottega Veneta, an elongated coat by Gucci and a chiffon mini dress by Victoria Beckham.
Blue
Blue always dominates fall/winter collections, but instead of navy or royal blue, this season, several lighter shades, such as sky blue and cobalt, have been added to the mix. In its trend report, Pantone highlighted two specific shades of blue - “starry blue” and Wave Ride, “a tropical blue ocean that inspires our desire to escape.” Bottega Veneta presented a spectacular cocoon coat in a bright sky blue hue, while Miu Miu presented cobalt-colored skirts and shirts.
Spring-summer 2025
Lime
The bright yellow-green mixture is a symbol of freshness and vitality for the spring-summer 2025 season. Brands did not limit themselves and presented a variety of things in this shade, from light dresses by Gucci, Simone Rocha and Ganni to jackets and bold necklines by Bach Mai. Lime is a surprisingly versatile shade that can be combined with other bright colors and harmoniously complements neutral tones.
Space silver
In the summer of 2024, metallic silver was mostly seen in accessories, while in 2025 it will be in dresses, skirts, shirts - everywhere. Among the brands, Roberto Cavalli, Palomo Spain, Sergio Hudson, Gucci and Alejandra Alonso were the most popular with space silver.
Pomegranate
The shade is similar to burgundy, but with a juicy lacquered shimmer and a refined red undertone. Pomegranate or ripe cherries are the fruit references for this color. Get inspired by suits and dresses by Saint Laurent and Jil Sander, leather trench coats by Bottega Veneta and Gucci, and wide leg pants by Ferragamo.
White
The color of calm, purity and clarity. From the flowing shapes of Moschino and Roberto Cavalli to the structured clothes of Ferragamo, who chose white as the dominant color for their spring-summer collections. White is so adaptable that it is easy to create both casual and sophisticated looks with it. So think, but not for long.
Black
Traditionally a winter color, it is one of the most important in spring-summer 2025. Dolce & Gabbana and Ferragamo presented black in lightweight fabrics and silhouettes. Instead, Prada, Moschino and Gucci opted for minimalist looks with airy skirts and black total looks.
Electric blue
Designers have chosen different interpretations of blue so that we can play with the shade. So, lighter blue is for a light summer look, and dark blue is for sophisticated elegance. Pay attention to the Marni dress and the Roberto Cavalli dress with a sea wave print.
Fiery red
Red continues to be one of the brightest shades in the wardrobe. It is fiery red that attracts with its liveliness, so feel free to wear this total look. For reference, look at the lightweight trench coat by Bach Mai and the pajama-style suit by Khaite.
Dark blue
Navy blue is becoming the new black, if we analyze the number of looks in this shade among the spring collections. Alaïa presented a blue down jacket, Ralph Lauren a chiffon dress, and Sergio Hudson a suit with shorts.
Buttery yellow
A favorite of this summer and a surefire trend for next summer, buttery yellow is neutral enough and at the same time attractively bright. You can choose a yellow Nanushka dress, combine a delicate top with jeans, as Prabal Gurung did, or a yellow look like Phillip Lim.
Pale pink
This shade will also stay with us for at least another year and is deservedly associated with the airiness of cotton candy. We're inspired by Jason Wu's delicate look and Prabal Gurung's bolder barbie pink.
