"A gender audit is a procedure that helps an organization create a favorable working environment for women and men, and at the same time increase efficiency. For the Ministry of Education and Science, which employs more than 300 employees of different genders, it is an opportunity to support each employee to achieve the best results; improve the implementation of gender equality policy in education; identify best practices in organizing the work process; identify and overcome obstacles to the realization of employees' potential; and form a personally oriented approach to management," the statement said.
The audit involves surveys and individual interviews, seminars, analysis of documents, the website, and the internal and external space of the Ministry of Education and Science. The entire process is confidential.
The project is being implemented with the support of UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) and EdCamp Ukraine.
A year ago, the results of a gender audit in the public sector, "Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men in the Civil Service of Ukraine," showed that 82.5% of respondents agreed that men and women have equal chances and opportunities for career growth in the central executive authorities.
