The Russian leadership is concealing mass desertion in its armed forces: after the mobilization of 2022, more than 5,000 court cases were opened for desertion.

The Russian command continues its policy of of concealing information about crimes of various kinds committed by the Russian Armed Forces, as well as facts that indicate demoralization of the personnel. This is reported by the Center of National Resistance, reports UNN.

According to sources in the Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions of Russia, a record number of Russian soldiers have been put on trial for desertion. In particular, in 2023, more than 5,000 court cases concerned unauthorized abandonment of military units after the start of mobilization in September 2022,

It is noted that a large number of sentences concerned desertion, as well as failure to comply with orders from higher command. The situation is being is being concealed at all levels of government in Russia, as such cases are widespread and relate to the DPR in the TOT of eastern and southern Ukraine.
