The European Union is suspending planned counter-tariffs on American goods for 90 days. This happened after the US announced a moratorium on tariffs for negotiations.

Negotiations should be given a chance, said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, explaining this approach.

Details
The European Union currently has no urgent intention to introduce planned retaliatory duties on American goods. After the US announced a moratorium on tariffs, the EU is also suspending its countermeasures for 90 days.
We want to give negotiations a chance. As we finalise the adoption of EU countermeasures, which have received strong support from our Member States, we will suspend them for 90 days. If the negotiations are not satisfactory, our countermeasures will take effect. Preparatory work on further countermeasures is ongoing
Earlier, the head of the EC stated in the context that Trump's duties only harm businesses and consumers.
Clear, predictable conditions are important for the functioning of trade and supply chains. That is why I have always advocated a zero-tariff agreement between the European Union and the United States
