In April 2024, the Krasnogvardeysky District Court of Dnipro sentenced to life imprisonment a conscript who in January 2022 committed shooting at the Southern machine-building plant. As a result, 5 people were killed, including one civilian, and another 5 were injured in various degrees of severity.
At the trial, the man fully admitted his guilt, repented and asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the victims.
During the investigation, it was established that during the military service, the convict had a conflict with other servicemen. Several times he witnessed quarrels, which he reported to the management.
Because of this, other military personnel have formed a negative attitude towards him. After another verbal altercation, he decided to kill those who did not share his thoughts and views. While in the weapons storage room, he took a submachine gun and ammunition and began to brutally shoot people.
