Due to the sharp cooling, the load on the Ukrainian energy system has increased. Electricity imports cover the evening deficit, allowing the system to be kept in balance.
A sharp drop in temperature and weather conditions have led to a significant increase in the load on the power system, but the current state of equipment allows the situation to be kept under control for the time being. This was stated by Yuriy Boyko, advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrenergo, during a briefing, reports UNN.
Judging by the forecast, which can be found on numerous Internet resources, we are coming out of this cold peak. The sharp drop in temperature and the weather conditions that we have outside the window today have led to a significant increase in the load on the power system, but the current state of equipment allows us to keep the situation under control for the time being. If you have noticed, there have not even been attempts to announce any restrictions or disconnections.
He noted that there is a shortage of electricity in the evening hours, but it is effectively "covered" by imports, which keeps the system in full balance.
