People's Deputy of Ukraine
Yuriy Anatoliyovych Boyko was born on October 9, 1958, in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast. He received two higher education degrees: in 1981, he graduated from the D. Mendeleev Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology with a degree in engineering, chemical technology, and in 2001, he graduated from the East Ukrainian University with a degree in engineering economics. People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 6th, 8th, and 9th convocations. He began his career at the Zorya chemical plant in Rubizhne, where he rose to the position of general director. He held leadership positions in the oil refining industry, including heading Lysychansknaftoorgsyntez and Ukrtatnafta, and later NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. He served as Minister of Fuel and Energy, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, and also Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine (in the governments of Viktor Yanukovych and Mykola Azarov). Until 2025, he headed the parliamentary group "Platform for Life and Peace" in the Verkhovna Rada, which was founded by former members of the banned political party "Opposition Platform — For Life."
