Andriy Sybiha held a conversation with Hakan Fidan about threats to navigation due to Russian attacks. Turkey could play a role in restoring freedom of maritime transport.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during which the parties discussed the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and threats to global food security. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, writes UNN.

During the talks, Sybiha informed his Turkish counterpart about the escalation of Russian attacks on civilian shipping in the Black Sea.
The MFA emphasized that Turkey, as the most powerful Black Sea state and a country with successful peacekeeping experience since 2022, can play an important role in restoring freedom of navigation.
The ministry noted that this issue is particularly relevant amid Russian attacks on the Ukrainian maritime corridor during the harvest period, which creates risks for global food security.
We discussed ways to restore freedom of navigation and ensure global food security. I once again thanked Turkey for its unwavering position in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity
The MFA also recalled that the conversation took place after Hakan Fidan's visit to Kyiv and the ratification of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Turkey.
