The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine held talks with the foreign ministers of Poland and Slovakia. They discussed Black Sea security, strengthening sanctions, and Ukraine's accession to the EU.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held telephone conversations with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Slovakia, during which the parties discussed the security situation in the Black Sea, strengthening sanctions against russia, and Ukraine's European integration. During the talks, Sybiha informed his colleagues about the intensification of russian attacks on civilian shipping in the Black Sea and emphasized that such actions by russia pose a threat to regional and global food security. The parties also discussed coordinating efforts to protect freedom of navigation and develop alternative export routes.
The interlocutors paid special attention to Ukraine's accession process to the European Union. Andrii Sybiha thanked Poland and Slovakia for supporting the opening of the first and sixth negotiation clusters, as well as for facilitating the adoption of the 21st EU sanctions package against russia.
In addition, with the Polish side, the Foreign Minister discussed the latest massive russian attack on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities and the need for further strengthening international pressure on russia. During the talks with the Slovak counterpart, the situation at the front, the development of bilateral cooperation, and preparations for the next round of Ukrainian-Slovak intergovernmental consultations were also discussed.
