According to reports, a short-range Hyunmoo-2 missile was fired during the exercise, which took place in the western region of the country. The training took place in the Taeyang area, about 108 km from Seoul, and was aimed at simulating a strike on an enemy ship.
These maneuvers were part of South Korea's strategic actions to demonstrate its ability to effectively respond to any provocations from Pyongyang. It is also noted that the launch was a response to the recent test of the latest intercontinental missile “Hwasong-19”, which caused concern in the international community.
