Details

On Tuesday, August 20, specialists-divers continued to explore the wreck site of the sailing ship Bayesian, which sank the day before off the coast of Sicily in a sudden storm. The previous day they had managed to recover the body of one of the crew members, cook Ricardo Thomas. However, rescue services from Rome, Sassari and Cagliari then had difficulty in getting any further because of furniture blocking the way.

The bodies of the missing may be inside the vessel. They include British tycoon and yacht owner Mike Lynch, his 18-year-old daughter, Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife, and Lynch's lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife, Euronews writes.

Help

British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah are also missing in the crash.

The Bayesian, a 56-meter British-flagged yacht, sank on Sunday night to Monday off the coast of Porticello, a coastal town about 15 kilometers east of Palermo. The yacht had twelve passengers and ten crew members on board, mostly British.

Interesting facts are reported by the news agency dpa:

The business partner of British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, who disappeared when his luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily, died over the weekend. Both were acquitted in June in a fraud case involving the $11 billion sale of Lynch's company Autonomy to U.S. company Hewlett Packard. Lynch's co-defendant in the case, Stephen Chamberlain, died after being hit by a car in Streatham, Cambridgeshire, while jogging on Saturday.
