Serial apartment burglar detained in Kyiv

Kyiv police have detained a man suspected of committing numerous burglaries and are checking his involvement in other similar crimes. Burglary tools and stolen items were seized from him.
Kyiv law enforcement officers detained a man who robbed at least two apartments. The police will check him for involvement in similar crimes in the capital, UNN reports with reference to the press service of the National Police.

It is noted that yesterday, December 30, operatives detained a man for committing a burglary. The offender, born in 1977, was detained immediately after committing another crime.
During the search of the offender's residence and the Mercedes car he was driving, investigators of the Solomyansky Police Department found material evidence indicating his involvement in the commission of a criminal offense. In particular, they seized lockpicks, keys, gloves, a cell phone, several SIM cards, as well as stolen items
It was also established that the detainee had previously committed another burglary in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv.

A criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 4 Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - committing a theft under martial law. The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The issue of serving him a notice of suspicion and choosing a measure of restraint is currently being decided.
The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years.
