It is noted that the court was asked to postpone the scheduled hearing on the case of 58-year-old suspect Ryan Ruth to February 10, 2025, due to the large amount of evidence in the case.
In turn, the defense lawyers requested a postponement of the case until December next year.
U.S. District Judge Eileen Cannon of Florida agreed to postpone the case, but called the defense's request for a one-year delay “excessive.
The judge then scheduled the jury trial for September 8, 2025.
It is also noted that Judge Cannon had previously presided over a closed criminal case accusing Trump of illegally storing classified documents after his first term in office.
