The Security Service of Ukraine reported that the acting deputy head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv was detained for bribery. According to media reports, it is Dmytro Nefyodov, a protege of the acting deputy head of the State Tax Service, Yevhen Sokur, UNN reports.
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the acting deputy head of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv on corruption. According to the case, the official was involved in extortion of illegal benefits from Kyiv entrepreneurs
The agency added that law enforcement officers documented how the official received bribes from the director of a Kyiv-based company engaged in the wholesale of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. In exchange for a monetary "reward," the official, according to the investigation, promised the businessman to provide licenses for the sale of fuel.
He engaged his friend to communicate with the head of the company and to hand over the bribe.
The SBU documented the receipt of the first part of the bribe and detained the official together with the intermediary during the transfer of the second "tranche"
Both detainees were served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). The issue of choosing a type of detention is being settled.
The detainees face imprisonment for up to 10 years with confiscation of property.
According to media reports, the detainee was Dmytro Nefyodov, who is close to the acting deputy head of the State Tax Service, Yevhen Sokur, who is himself under investigation in another criminal case. According to the media, it is he who is responsible for personnel policy in the tax service and selects loyal candidates for positions. Yevhen Sokur is personally involved in the appointment and introduction of new tax officers in the regions and even got into a scandal because the staff of one of the local tax offices defended the head of the tax office, whom Sokur decided to replace.
By the way, journalists have repeatedly reported that the shadow supervisor of the tax office is the head of the Rada's tax committee, Danylo Hetmentsav, who, through his right-hand man, Yevhen Sokur, influences all decisions made by the body.
This is probably why Hetmantsev was quick to thank the SBU for its work and disavow the detained tax officer.
I am grateful to the Security Service of Ukraine, which, together with the internal security of the State Tax Service, detected and detained a bribe-taker in the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Kyiv. The bribe in the amount of USD 3 thousand was received. The bribe of USD 3 thousand was received for issuing a license. Every tax officer should clearly realize the inevitable consequences of any illegal behavior. And taxpayers must report every such fact. Only together we can cleanse the tax authorities of all random people
