SAP and NABU have completed the investigation into former Deputy Minister Vasyl Lozynskyi and the director of a state enterprise. They are suspected of abuse of power.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine have completed the investigation into the case concerning the former Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and an official of a state enterprise. The name of the suspect is not disclosed, but according to UNN sources, it is about former Deputy Minister of Development Vasyl Lozynskyi. This is reported by UNN with reference to SAPO.
Details
The actions of the former Deputy Minister are qualified under Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 364, and the director of the state enterprise under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Abuse of power or official position - the sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with a fine of five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens).
NABU detectives, on the instructions of the SAPO prosecutor, have opened the case materials to the defense side for review. Also pending before the HACC is another case concerning the indictment of the former Deputy Minister, his confidant, and other accomplices. They were exposed for soliciting and receiving USD 400,000 in undue advantage
Context
At the beginning of June this year, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office announced a new suspicion against the former Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development in a case involving millions in losses during the provision of alternative sources of light, heat, and water supply to the population in the winter period.
Recall
Law enforcement officers detained the acting Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Vasyl Lozynskyi, for embezzlement of budget funds. As reported on the official page of the Ministry of Infrastructure, there was an order to prepare documents for the dismissal of the official.
SAPO reported that NABU detectives exposed the Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Vasyl Lozynskyi, for receiving USD 400,000 in bribes for facilitating the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of equipment and machinery at inflated prices. The issue of notifying him of suspicion is currently being decided.
