NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed Donald Trump's announcement regarding the deployment of 5,000 US troops to Poland. The Alliance is currently working out the details of this mission.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Friday praised U.S. President Donald Trump's surprise announcement regarding the deployment of 5,000 American troops to Poland. This was reported by UNN with reference to Politico.
Details
Speaking to reporters in Sweden on Friday during a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, Rutte said he "welcomes" the announcement and confirmed that the Alliance's military command is currently "working out all the details."
Additionally
On Thursday, May 21, U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to deploy 5,000 American troops to Poland. This represents a major shift from last week's decision to reduce the U.S. troop presence in Europe.
This comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth decided last week to suspend the planned deployment of a 4,000-strong armored brigade to Poland—a move that surprised Poland, one of America's staunchest European allies and the country with the highest defense spending relative to GDP among NATO members.
As a reminder
Recently, General Alexus Grynkewich, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, confirmed that the U.S. would withdraw 5,000 troops from Europe in accordance with the Donald Trump administration's plans.
Subsequently, U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that the deployment of American troops to Poland had been delayed, but added it was incorrect to claim that U.S. forces are being withdrawn from Europe.
