Russia attacked a UNICEF warehouse, destroying humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children worth $3.9 million. This was reported by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, as conveyed by UNN.

Shocked by yet another cynical crime by Russia. This time, a UNICEF warehouse storing humanitarian aid for Ukrainian children and families affected by the war came under enemy attack. The aggressor state has added another strike not only against civilian infrastructure but also against the international humanitarian mission that saves lives every day 

According to him, over 106,000 units of humanitarian cargo worth nearly $3.9 million were destroyed — generators, drinking water, hygiene kits, and other critically important supplies.

UNICEF is a long-standing partner of the Ombudsman's Office, which helps Ukrainian children and families every day. The strike on the humanitarian warehouse is a blow to those who save lives.

Russia also continues to kill children and destroy humanitarian infrastructure. Just last week, according to UNICEF, two children were killed, and at least 50 others were injured. In June, the highest monthly death toll for children since 2022 was recorded: 7 children died, and another 116 were injured.  I reiterate: attacks on humanitarian facilities and humanitarian mission workers are a gross violation of international humanitarian law. When those delivering aid to children and civilians come under attack, Russia strikes not only infrastructure but also the very ability to save lives. The aggressor state must be held accountable for every such crime 

The Ombudsman emphasized that children should grow up without fear, and humanitarian aid must reach those in need without hindrance. The most important thing Ukrainian children need today is peace.
