Russia spreads fakes about Ukraine in Syria amid rebel success
Kyiv • UNN
Russian propaganda channels groundlessly accuse Ukraine of destabilizing the situation in Syria. Meanwhile, Syrian rebels have captured the strategically important cities of Hama and Aleppo.
Russian propaganda channels continue to actively distribute" reports " from Syria, trying to create a fictional picture of Ukraine's involvement in the aggravation of the security situation in this country. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, reports UNN.
All the so-called" investigations " of the Russian media do not have any confirmed evidence and are based on fantasies that do not correspond to reality.
In fact, the responsibility for the ongoing war in Syria lies with Russia, which has maintained a military presence in the country for more than nine years. For Putin, participation in the Syrian conflict is a way to destabilize the situation in the region, create conditions for the spread of influence in Africa and ensure the presence of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea in order to put pressure on the West.

The Syrian rebels won an important victory, knocking out pro-regime forces from Hama after a successful offensive in the north of the country. This success was another blow to President Bashar al-Assad and his allies from Russia and Iran, which further aggravated the situation in the region. The capture of Hama, which has remained under government control since the beginning of the War, opens up the possibility of further attacks on key cities, which could dramatically change the balance of power in Syria.
On the eve of the Syrian rebels, supported by Turkey, completely captured the city of Aleppo. During the assault, a statue of President Bashar al-Assad's brother and father was destroyed, and the flag of Free Syria was raised over the Citadel.
