Russia has begun equipping combat ships with "Peroyed-M" electronic warfare systems

Russia has begun installing Peroed-M electronic warfare systems on ships of the Baltic and Pacific Fleets. This was reported by Defense Express, writes UNN.

Details

According to the publication, the new systems have already been spotted on the missile cruiser "Varyag" of Project 1164 "Atlant", which is of the same type as the sunken cruiser "Moskva", as well as on one of the anti-submarine frigates of Project 11540 "Yastreb" of the Baltic Fleet.

As the Polish publication ZBiAM notes, the Peroed-M systems have also been recorded on the anti-submarine corvettes "Urengoy" and "Zelenodolsk" of Project 1331M, one of the corvettes of Project 20380, landing craft of Project 21820 "Dyugon", base minesweepers of Project 12700, and, presumably, on the nuclear cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov".

The declared effective range of the Peroed-M is up to 2.5 kilometers. The system is based on the trench EW system "Peroed", which became known in 2023 and was used to counter FPV drones. Unlike the ground-based version, the shipborne variant likely operates in conjunction with onboard radar stations.

Defense Express notes that Russia seeks to equip as many of its navy ships as possible with electronic warfare systems. At the same time, Peroed-M systems have not yet been spotted on ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
