Romanian F-16 shoots down second drone near the border with Ukraine

Romanian President Nicușor Dan reported the downing of a drone by an F-16 fighter. The UAV was neutralized in an uninhabited area 10 km from the city of Sfântu Gheorghe.
A second drone was shot down by an F-16 fighter of the Romanian Air Force in Romania on Saturday, July 25, in the morning, the country's president Nicușor Dan reported on X on Saturday, writes UNN.
This morning, at 8:30 a.m., in Romanian airspace, 10 km west of the city of Sfântu Gheorghe (Delta), a new drone was shot down. The drone was shot down by a Romanian pilot from an F-16 aircraft
As clarified by the Romanian Ministry of Defense: "On Saturday, July 25, at 08:22, the radar surveillance systems of the Romanian Ministry of National Defense detected another unauthorized intrusion of a drone operating near the Ukrainian border into the national airspace. Two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, which were patrolling the airspace, intercepted the aerial target and performed standard identification and neutralization procedures. The drone was safely shot down in an uninhabited area near the border."
"Brigades of the Romanian Ministry of National Defense will be deployed at the crash site to conduct necessary investigations. The Ministry of National Defense continues to closely monitor the airspace situation and closely coordinates its actions with Alliance structures," the statement reads.
