Judge Oleksiy Tandyr's detention was extended until August 31 for committing a fatal road accident while intoxicated, which resulted in the death of a National Guard officer.
The Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv has extended the pre-trial restraint against judge Oleksiy Tandyr, who is accused of committing a fatal road accident while intoxicated. The measure of restraint in the form of detention without bail was extended until August 31.

At the request of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv extended the term of the preventive measure for a judge accused of committing a fatal road accident while intoxicated. By the court's decision, the measure of restraint in the form of detention without bail was extended until August 31, 2024 inclusive
Recall
On the night of May 26, 2023, Judge Oleksiy Tandyr, then head of the Makariv District Court of Kyiv Region, ran over a National Guard officer to his death at a checkpoint in the capital. The judge was detained on the spot.
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code. The High Council of Justice granted the Deputy Prosecutor General's request for consent to detain the judge. Judge Tandyr was placed in custody.
On June 20, the High Council of Justice upheld the decision to bring judge Oleksiy Tyndyr to disciplinary responsibility and impose a disciplinary sanction in the form of a motion for dismissal.
