According to local media, ahead of Putin's visit to Novosibirsk, asphalt was hastily relaid, lawns were laid, and sidewalks and building façades were repaired.
Novosibirsk became the fifth city that the Russian dictator has visited over the past two and a half weeks, not counting Moscow and St. Petersburg. Before that, Putin visited Kazan, Irkutsk, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Ulan-Ude.
Before that, the Russian leader had made almost no trips to the regions for several months.
