A series of New Year's Eve protests demanding new elections are planned in the Georgian capital. Participants will collect humanitarian aid for the needy and hold several marches on Rustaveli Avenue.
In the capital of Georgia the New Year on Rustaveli Avenue today will be met by protesters demanding new elections and the return of the country to the European path, reports UNN with reference to "News Georgia".
The big gathering in front of the parliament is an hour before New Year's Eve. People are encouraged to come with tasty food and charity parcels. The collection of humanitarian aid for the poor will be large-scale, only this night the protesters have already collected about 7 thousand GEL.
Today's protest action is taking place in the format of a New Year's feast.
Tbilisi already has experience of protest celebrations. This spring, protesters also celebrated Easter on Rustaveli Avenue, when the campaign against the law on foreign agents was in full swing.
