Protection against the Russian Federation and Belarus, logistics, and salaries for Chornobyl NPP workers – Zelenskyy visited the north of Ukraine
Kyiv • UNN
Zelenskyy visited Slavutych to discuss border protection and air defense in the north. In June, the government promises to resolve the issue of salaries for Chornobyl NPP workers.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Slavutych on Thursday, May 21. He met with the heads of communities from the northern regions — Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts — as he reported on social media, UNN reports.

One of the topics of the meeting was protection against potential Russian threats in the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction and the strengthening of air defense and protection against drones in northern Ukraine.
"It is very important to support our people here, to strengthen protection. This is exactly what we are doing. This applies to protective structures — fortifications and more; there will be additional reinforcement of the border, as well as our Defense and Security Forces, which are located specifically in this direction — towards Chernihiv and Kyiv from the territory of neighbors in Belarus, whom Russia very much wants to involve more in this war, and from the Bryansk region,"
As the President noted, Ukraine has the capacity for reinforcement and the capacity to work preventively regarding Russian territories — from where a threat may originate.
Later, the Head of State noted: another important issue is logistics.
"It is necessary to complete all work as quickly as possible. Our government officials also have tasks regarding greater support for the Chornobyl NPP staff. The Minister of Finance of Ukraine promised that there will be decisions regarding the issue of salaries as early as June,"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the leadership of Belarus "must stay on its toes," meaning they must truly feel that there will be consequences for aggressive actions against Ukraine.
