Nine people are killed and 33 wounded in a massive Russian missile attack on Kyiv, damaging civilian infrastructure in 7 districts.
As of 12:40 a.m., nine people have been killed and 33 wounded in Russia's massive attack on the capital. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports.
According to the investigation, on the morning of July 8, 2024, the Russian armed forces, in violation of the laws and customs of war, launched an air attack with various types of missiles on Ukraine and the capital. As of 12:40 a.m., nine people were killed and 33 wounded in Kyiv as a result of the attack
According to law enforcement officials, destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in 7 districts of the capital:
- In Shevchenkivskyi district, the Okhmadyt children's hospital was damaged, there are destructions.
- in Holosiivske - the building of a kindergarten and a residential building were damaged, cars are burning;
- an office building was damaged in Solomyansky district;
- In Dniprovske, debris is burning in residential buildings;
- a private house was damaged in Darnytsia district;
- debris is burning near a residential building in Svyatoshynskyi district; a fire broke out in the premises of an enterprise;
- a house in the Desnianskyi district caught fire.
Emergency services and investigative teams are working at the scene.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in the criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
