The Security Service's counterintelligence detained an FSB agent who was preparing arson attacks on the facilities of the Defense Forces and Ukrzaliznytsia in Odesa region. UNN reports with reference to the SBU press service.
Details
According to the SBU, the enemy primarily targeted administrative buildings and official cars of local TCCs.
To establish their locations and destroy them, the Russian special service remotely recruited a 26-year-old resident of Izmail district for money. To identify military facilities, the agent traveled around the district, where he recorded the locations of Ukrainian defenders.
After identifying a potential target, he was supposed to arrive at its address and burn it with a flammable substance.
At the same time, the defendant was preparing arson attacks on relay cabinets near the main railway lines.
The FSB agent was detained when he was conducting additional reconnaissance near the SEC.
Addendum
According to the investigation, the young man came to the attention of the occupiers because of his anti-Ukrainian comments in the chats of pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.
After recruitment, communication with the agent took place through a popular messenger, where he received instructions on priority "targets" and how to set them on fire. If he completed the enemy's task, he hoped for money from the FSB, which was to be transferred to his crypto wallet.
During the searches in the detainee's home, a cell phone with evidence of his subversive activities in favor of Russia was seized.
SBU investigators have now served him a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
