Politico has released a ranking of the most influential people in Europe: Yermak is among the “dreamers” and Putin is among the “doers”

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, has been included in Politico's ranking of the most influential people in Europe in the category of "dreamers." Also, Politico believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin deserves to be second in the category of "figures" with the signature - imperialistic, UNN reports.

Politico annually publishes a rating of the most influential people in Europe according to its  editorial board.

There are three categories presented:

·       "figures" - those who actively change the situation, conduct politics and make decisions

·       "destroyers" - people who challenge existing structures, violating the status quo

·       "Dreamers" - visionaries who shape the future through ambitious ideas and innovations

Yermak, according to Politico, took second place in the category "Dreamers" with the signature – retainer.

According to Politico, Yarmak spent most of 2024 trying to enlist the support of China, but after this application failed, he set his sights on India.

"Like the new administration in Washington, the authorities in New Delhi believe that Ukraine must compromise to end the war. The head of the presidential administration is determined to limit the scope of these concessions and ensure that his country remains intact. To this end, Yermak hopes that Europe will increase its aid, arguing that if negotiations are held with Russia, Kiev should be able to bargain from a position of strength. He's asking for more artillery shells, air defense systems, and long — range missiles-anything that will help slow Russia's seemingly relentless progress. In the short term, his desire for peace is not much different from the pursuit of war," writes Politico.

Rating of "Dreamers":

·       third place went to former Estonian prime minister Kaya Kallas, who is now the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and security policy.

·       fourth place went to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

·       fifth place - Head of the defense concern Rheinmetall Armin Papperger.

·       sixth place -  Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.

·       seventh place - Pope Francis.

·       eighth place goes to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

·       ninth place goes to Mistral founder and CEO Arthur Mensch.

In the rating of "figures", according to Politico, Russian dictator Putin occupies the second position.

Politico writes that by patiently playing the long game, Putin seems to be achieving his goal of splitting the West and conquering part of Ukraine.

"... Russia is paying a high price for Putin's imperialist project. Defense spending is set to reach a record third of total spending in 2025, and the focus on military production is straining Russia's economy. The ruble has fallen to its lowest level in the last two years, and the growing inflationary crisis is seriously affecting ordinary citizens. the threat of conscription has forced hundreds of thousands of the best and brightest people to go abroad, and difficulties with recruitment indicate a weakening of support for his Ukrainian expedition," writes Politico.

As Politico points out, despite these problems, Putin's power remains unquestionable.

Also among the "figures" in third place is Polish prime minister Donald Tusk, in fourth place-  president of the European Investment Bank, the EU credit division Nadia Calvinho.

The category of "destroyers" includes, in particular:

2.    European Commission Executive Vice President for a clean, fair and competitive transition Teresa Ribera.

3.    Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski.

4.    leader of the French far-right National Association Party Marine Le Pen.

Winners in all three categories will be announced today during the live broadcast of POLITICO 28: Class of 2025.

Last year, the head of the Office of the president of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, was ranked in the Politico ranking of the most influential people in Europe in the "figures"category.

Then President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was recognized as the winner in the nomination "Dreamers" according to the publication Politico.
