The Polish authorities will intensify truck inspections at the Polish-Ukrainian border in response to the demands of the transportation industry, and will also address the issue of unfair competition in the transportation sector at the EU level.

Polish services will strengthen control on the Polish-Ukrainian border. This is stated in a statement of the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic of Poland, UNN reports.

We maintain an ongoing dialog with the transportation industry. During the last meeting, we agreed that state services would strengthen the inspection of trucks on the Polish-Ukrainian border. This was one of the industry's demands

- said Polish Minister of Infrastructure Alwin Gayadhur.

As the head of the ministry emphasized, the Polish government will also take measures in European institutions aimed at eliminating "unfair competition in the transport market."

According to Alvin Gaydar, the EU Transport Council summit scheduled for next Monday, December 4, "is the moment when the EU should raise the issue of the consequences of abolishing the requirement for Ukrainian drivers to have EU entry permits."

According to the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, about 2.4 thousand trucks were queuing in Poland towards the border with Ukraine as of the morning amid the blockade of Polish carriers.

As a reminder, on November 6, Polish carriers began blocking the movement of trucks on the border with Ukraine at three checkpoints, and then expanded the blockade to another one.
