Patriarch Bartholomew supports initiatives for spiritual independence

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew has expressed support for President Zelensky's initiatives for Ukraine's spiritual independence. During a meeting with the Ukrainian delegation, he said that he cares about the OCU and supports everything that is good for Ukraine.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew supports the initiatives of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding spiritual independence. This was announced by the Office of the President following a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople, UNN reports .

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Olena Kovalska and Head of the State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelenskyy spoke with His Holiness. Metropolitan Epifaniy, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, was also present.
The Ukrainian delegation thanked Bartholomew for supporting our country and emphasized that even during the war, Ukrainian society deepens religious freedom - despite the crimes of the occupiers, who destroyed more than 630 religious buildings and killed dozens of clergy.
The Ecumenical Patriarch stated that he cares about the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and "supports everything that is good for Ukraine," including the decisions on spiritual independence announced by President Zelensky.
