Court returns architectural monument 'Intercession Church' in Kharkiv region to the state

The Economic Court of Kharkiv Region upheld the prosecutor's claim and returned the Pokrovska Church monument to state ownership. The church was illegally registered as the property of a religious community, although it was not subject to privatization.
On July 19, the Economic Court of the Kharkiv Region upheld the claim of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and returned the national monument “Intercession Church” to state ownership. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture, according to UNN.
Details
In 1993, the monument was transferred to the religious community of the Holy Protection Diocese of Kharkiv of the UOC for use, but the defendants registered the ownership of this monument without proper legal grounds.
At the same time, the Pokrovskaya Church, an architectural monument of national importance, is included in the List of Cultural Heritage Monuments that cannot be privatized, and therefore could not be alienated into any other ownership.
