New Lamborghini Urus debuts next month

Lamborghini has released a teaser for a new modification of the Urus, which will be presented on July 1, 2026, reports UNN.

Details

A simple caption under the teaser, as Motor1.com notes, reads: "A new chapter begins." The presentation will be broadcast live on lamborghini.com and YouTube, where additional details will be announced.

Along with the short caption, Lamborghini showed a single image of the new Urus, partially hidden by shadows. Two spoilers hint at what the bright green SUV is equipped with: one above the rear window, and the other — slightly higher than the rear lights, located in the middle of the tailgate. Judging by the size and aggressiveness of these spoilers, this is likely a high-performance version, the publication notes.

The publication points out that if one had to guess, it is probably the return of the Urus Performante, production of which ended in 2024. This model was equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 657 horsepower, compared to 641 hp in the standard Urus.

Lamborghini still uses the same twin-turbocharged V8 engine in the 2026 Urus SE, but now it is a plug-in hybrid, providing a total power output of 789 hp. It is expected that the future high-performance version will improve this power figure, possibly exceeding the 800 hp mark for the first time in the history of the Urus model.

In addition to immense power, the revived Urus Performance should receive numerous improvements under the hood. The previous version received a recalibrated suspension with fixed springs (replacing the standard air suspension), more responsive rear-wheel steering, and an all-wheel drive system with a more pronounced rear bias. A host of visual elements are also expected, including carbon fiber accents indicating that this is not a standard Urus.

Before the debut of the previous model, it set a record for an SUV on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Road, posting a time of 10:32.064. The new model may attempt to set a similar record, the publication notes.
