Last week, Musk became increasingly bold in his open disagreement, ranging from political statements about other presidential advisers. And he had a habit of getting ahead of the president both before and after he joined the White House

The authors point out that Trump, judging by everything, remains satisfied with Musk, "despite the fact that his fellow billionaire attracts a disproportionate amount of attention compared to other high-ranking White House aides and even members of the president's cabinet."

In fact, the president continues to praise his adviser, even when he says he will be leaving soon. At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Trump praised Musk and his DOGE team, saying, "Your people are fantastic. I hope they stay, we would like to keep them as long as possible."

The publication cites five episodes when Musk "outperformed any other presidential adviser":

• attacked Trump's trade adviser Peter Navarro, one of the public faces of the administration's aggressive tariff policy;

• publicly spoke out against large-scale cuts in NASA funding;

• publicly interfered in the affairs of Trump's cabinet, despite not officially being a member of the cabinet;

• intervened in the Republican leadership battle in the Senate - which Trump stayed away from;

• reached the "global level" by supporting right-wing candidates in several European countries.

"Musk goes where no other Trump adviser can: publicly disagrees with the president. Trump's adviser seems to freely share his thoughts - and the president seems to like it," the publication summarizes.
