Due to the mistakes made in the first months of the full-scale invasion and the loss of rescuers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has completely revised all response protocols, including the requirements for bulletproof vests to be worn by SES rescuers.

The State Emergency Service has reviewed and changed all response protocols due to new challenges posed by the war. What exactly has been changed was announced by Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko in an interview at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities on April 12, UNN reports.

Details

According to Klymenko, they have completely revised the instructions for the use of SES forces. This applies to engineering and special equipment and our rescuers, and we have increased the number of rescuers engaged in high-altitude work. At the beginning of this year, there were 150 of them, and now there are 500.

Because of our mistakes in the first months of the full-scale invasion, because of the deaths of our colleagues, we are rewriting the rules. We have completely changed all response protocols, starting with what kind of bulletproof vests rescuers should have.

 ," says Klymenko.

Recall

A rescuer died in hospital from injuries sustained during a Russian missile attack on Odesa on March 15, bringing the death toll to 21, with more than 70 others injured.
