Mindich filed a lawsuit against Zelenskyy and stated his demands

The main figure in the "Midas case" - businessman Timur Mindich - has filed a lawsuit with the Cassation Administrative Court against the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by UNN with reference to data from the Judiciary of Ukraine platform.

Details

Mindich filed the lawsuit, numbered 990/181/26, on May 14. He demands that the court declare unlawful and cancel Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 843/2025 dated November 13, 2025.

The interests of the plaintiff in this case are represented by lawyer Andriy Kostenok.  Also involved in the case as third parties are the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the NSDC, and the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

As of May 20, 2026, the composition of the court has already been appointed:

  • presiding judge - Myroslava Bilak;
    • panel judge - Viktoriia Matsedonska;
      • panel judge - Zhanna Melnyk-Tomenko;
        • panel judge - Volodymyr Sokolov.

          Context

          It should be noted that at the end of April, Timur Mindich had already filed a lawsuit. At that time, the defendant was People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak. The case concerned the protection of the businessman's honor and dignity. He attempted to challenge the assertion that he was a member of a criminal organization and involved in its activities.

          What you need to know about Timur Mindich

          Timur Mindich is a businessman, film producer, and co-owner of the "Kvartal 95" studio. He was born on September 19, 1979, in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro). Together with his wife, Kateryna Verber, he is raising three children.

          Until 2019, he was a co-owner of companies within the "Kvartal 95" group along with the current President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Additionally, Ukrainian businessman and oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky referred to him as his business partner.

          Until December 2024, Mindich was also the ultimate beneficiary of the Russian company New Diamond Technology.

          Even before the "Midas case," Timur Mindich was a figure in several scandals.

          In 2019, during the presidential campaign, Volodymyr Zelenskyy used Mindich's armored vehicle.

          In March 2020, according to investigative journalists, Mindich visited the Office of the President three times to meet with Andriy Yermak. It is likely that during this period, he could have participated in preparations for the vote on Law No. 590, which concerns the prohibition of returning nationalized banks to former owners.

          Four years later, in 2024, investigators published material regarding Yulia Drozdova — the owner of the company "Kinokit," which since 2019 has held multi-million dollar contracts from the state TV channel Rada — and her connection to Timur Mindich.

          In June 2025, NABU and SAPO detained the alleged organizer of a criminal scheme who was suspected of multi-million dollar embezzlement in the procurement of energy equipment. Journalists wrote at the time that the detainee was a close relative of Mindich.

          On November 10, NABU officers conducted searches at Mindich's apartment in a case involving corruption in the energy sector. According to NABU's version, participants in the scheme systematically received "kickbacks" from Energoatom's counterparties.

          The businessman himself left Ukraine a few hours prior to this. Currently, Mindich is in Israel. However, this did not prevent the NSDC from imposing personal sanctions against him for a period of 3 years in November 2025, and subsequently arresting him in absentia.

          Reminder

          Earlier, we wrote that Timur Mindich wanted to purchase a 50% stake in the company Fire Point. Negotiations lasted a year and were unsuccessful. Mindich was refused the sale due to the identity of the person who was to become a shareholder and for a number of other reasons.
