Juvenile prosecutors of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office successfully defended the verdict against a 50-year-old resident of Sumy district in the court of appeal. The decision of the court of first instance was upheld, and the man will spend the next 6 years behind bars.
In addition, he was deprived of the right to hold positions and engage in any activities related to the care and upbringing of children for a period of 3 years.
In November 2021, while staying in his partner's apartment in Sumy, a man was left alone with her 4-year-old granddaughter and committed lewd acts with her. Despite the fact that the child did not understand the significance of the adult's actions, she told her grandmother, who immediately informed the police.
The investigation confirmed the information. Doctors recorded light bodily injuries on the child's body, which was additional evidence of the man's guilt.
