Maersk suspends container shipping to the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk due to russian attacks

Global carrier Maersk suspends container shipping to the Black Sea port, likely due to intensified russian attacks on port infrastructure and civilian vessels, reports UNN.

We regret to inform that due to the current situation in our region of operations, the feeder operator cannot continue to provide services in Ukraine via the Black Sea port. Therefore, our services through the Black Sea fishing port are temporarily suspended until further notice

Maersk added that cargo intended for unloading in Chornomorsk is being redirected and unloaded at the Romanian port of Constanta.

If Constanta is not an acceptable place of unloading, customers are invited to submit a request to change the destination

In addition, the company offered free cancellation of bookings for shipments from Ukraine or a change of loading port to Constanta while maintaining the current ocean freight rate.
