Lucy Markovic, star of Next Top Model, has died at the age of 27

Australian reality show Next Top Model star Lucy Markovic has died at the age of 27. The girl lived with a dangerous congenital disease that worsened in recent weeks.

The model's death was announced by the star's partner Caro on her Instagram on Friday, April 11.

Dear friends and family, I regret to inform you that Lucy has passed away. She was at peace. I, her mother and my mother were with her. We ask you, please, give us space in these difficult times. May Lucy rest in peace

The model suffered from arteriovenous malformation of the brain (AVM), a problem that has worsened in recent weeks. It is an abnormal tangle of blood vessels that disrupts blood flow between arteries and veins in the brain.

Last month, Markovic reported that she had spent some time in the hospital after seizures and wrote that her AVM had increased and become the size of a golf ball. This week she had to undergo emergency surgery, after which the girl fell into a coma.

Then her partner asked fans to pray, as her condition was rapidly deteriorating, stating:
