Lebanon without power: Zahrani power plant shut down due to lack of fuel

In Lebanon, electricity is cut off due to the shutdown of the Zahrani power plant. The reason is the exhaustion of fuel oil reserves. The power supply is expected to be restored within 24-48 hours.
On Saturday, electricity was cut off in Lebanon, as the Zahrani power plant stopped working due to the depletion of fuel oil reserves. This was reported by L'Orient Today, according to UNN.

Electricité du Liban (EDL), the country's state-owned electricity supplier, informed that as of noon on Saturday, August 17, the last working unit at the Zahrani power plant was forced to shut down completely as the plant had completely exhausted its fuel oil reserves. This led to a complete power outage throughout Lebanon.
It is noted that the blackout affected “important facilities such as the airport, port, water pumps, sewage systems, and prisons.
The EDL assured that as soon as the fuel oil is delivered, the operation of the power plant units will resume, and subsequently electricity and power supply will be gradually restored to the previous level.
Lebanon's acting Minister of Energy Walid Fayad said that the country's power would be restored within 24-48 hours.
