A large-scale fire that broke out in the Zhytomyr region on the territory of the Polissya Nature Reserve has been localized over an area of 500 hectares. This is reported by UNN with reference to a statement by the State Emergency Service.

It is noted that there is currently no threat to populated areas.
Work to extinguish the fire is ongoing and will continue through the night in shifts
It is indicated that in addition to rescuers and foresters, volunteers are working on-site. They have set up a mobile assistance point and are providing meals for the personnel.
