Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called on NATO allies to immediately provide more air defense systems, including Patriot systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, and reportedly indicated that the allies have agreed to identify and send additional air defense systems to Ukraine to help protect its skies.
During a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on the allies to immediately provide more air defense systems, including Patriot, capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, and they responded to the call and are taking immediate action. The minister said this following the meeting on Thursday, UNN reports.
We have just concluded a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, where I called on the Allies to immediately provide Ukraine with more air defense systems, including the Petriots, which can intercept ballistic missiles, and I appreciate the response of the Allies, in particular Germany's response
Minister X added that "Ukraine's biggest need right now is to urgently strengthen its air defense.
I thank Germany and other allies for answering the call and taking action right away
The call was echoed by German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock, who said she had "just heard loud and clear from Dmytro Kuleba that Ukraine urgently needs more air defense." "I saw for myself in Odesa and Kharkiv that air defense saves lives. Together, we call on partners in Europe and around the world to do everything we can," Burbock told X.
According to tagesschau, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that "NATO allies have agreed to identify air defense systems in their arsenals that they will send to Ukraine for its self-defense." The allies will make these additional air defense systems available to Ukraine, thereby "contributing to the defense of our skies," Kuleba told the press in Brussels, where he is attending a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
